Pages: 528
I really love Jodi Picoult. She’s one of my favorite authors and I usually enjoy her writing style and work.
But, "By Any Other Name" isn’t my favorite by her. I didn’t enjoy it, I had to dnf.
I was literally forcing myself to read it, but enough was enough, I couldn’t stand it.
I was totally turned off by the story of Emilia Bassano. I wouldn’t have started this book in the first place if I had known it glorifies a relationship with a minor.
It was awkward and creepy reading about a 13-year-old girl enjoying her lessons on the intricacies of pleasuring men and the glorification of her lovemaking with a 56-year-old man. Don’t convince me that a child would love this!
I couldn’t read any further, so I had to stop and leave that book aside forever.
And I believe I’m done with it and will never get back to it ever.
