Well… umm… okay. What in the Wattpad fever dream did I just read? This book was a terrible mess, pure torture wrapped in cringe. I’m not sure how I made it to the last page!
Speaking of the main characters, our not-sweet couple, Sylvie and Killian. The two are insecure red flags with more issues than a therapy waiting room. I hated them both equally. The enemies-to-lovers and fake marriage tropes were shoved into this book forcefully in a very unrealistic way. Like seriously? Am I supposed to believe that an asshole millionaire involved in BDSM activities falls madly in love with a random stranger he calls “cow”? And ironically, this clueless woman falls for him too? This is against all logic.
As for the plot, it was simply nothing. This book delivered absolutely nothing but a disgusting relationship and awful side characters. He’s rude and she’s stupid, and together, they’re one of the worst couples I’ve had the misfortune of reading about. As an adult, I don’t mind smut, but this book was bad, like really bad. It was a struggle reading about an insufferable couple roleplaying as part of their so-called fake marriage. It all left a bad taste in my mouth.
Literally, everyone included in this book was unbearable and not decent in any sane way. Sylvie’s parents, ex, and best friend, are all awful. Not to mention Killian’s friends, yikes! Ew, man! What was the point of all of this? Ewww!
In terms of writing style, I don’t know but this book was either unedited or it was written with the help of a broken AI. At one point, I had no idea who was talking to whom; it be Killian’s POV chapter with Sylvie speaking in first person. And it happened a couple of times throughout the book. But honestly, that would be the last thing to worry about in this mess.
Overall, I hated this book. Such a toxic couple surrounded by other toxic people. It wasn’t romantic or healthy in the slightest. I’m glad it’s over. Zero stars if I could.
